How to Fill Out Canadian Citizenship Application Form?

Follow these steps to prepare an IMM 0008 Form:

  1. Select the reason for filing the application (to be reunited with family, to work abroad, or to obtain a refugee status). Enter the total number of relatives you include in the application, state your preferred language, and inform the IRCC about the planned domicile. Additionally, you have to confirm whether you have already got the Certificat de sélection du Québec or have only applied for it.
  2. Indicate your personal information - full name and other names you have used in the past, unique client identifier from your ID, gender, height, eye color, date, and place of birth. Record your citizenship and the place of residence. If you have visited Canada in the past, write down the date. In case you lived in other foreign countries, list them in the provided space. State your marital status and provide information about your current or former spouse or partner.
  3. Add your contact details - mailing and residential addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses.
  4. Write down the details from your passport and national identity document.
  5. Describe your education and occupation (whichever applies). You need to specify the highest level of education you have and state your present and intended occupation.
  6. Outline your language proficiency. Name your mother tongue, certify whether you are able to speak English and/or French, and indicate which language is easier for you to use. If you took any tests to examine your language skills, tick the appropriate box.
  7. Provide the same information for each of your dependents (relatives that follow you to Canada or stay in their country including your spouse, partner, children) - all individuals who are not Canadian citizens or residents.
  8. Authorize the IRCC to process your personal details, sign and date the form.
